You may be thinking of Hans Rancke-Madsen, who was Danish rather than German.

Sorry for being inactive. I am alive and well, though a move to a new city (Mannheim in the Southwest of Germany) and a fairly demanding job with lots of hours has taken a lot out of me (but I am glad to have a steady job these days after a lengthy period of unemployment, and this job is rather interesting). Plus I run a game of D&D these days - I hope to run GURPS one day again, but when you join a new group in a new city it's easier to pitch a game everyone is familiar with.
