Default All-Out Attack and Rapid Strike

This is in the book somewhere, but I'm tired and I need the answer. Can you get four attacks with Rapid Strike and All-Out Attack (Double), or does it work like Extra Attack?

IM not sure how your getting 4 but here is a post from Kromm that indicates that you can.

http://forums.sjgames.com/showpost.p...77&postcount=6

So, the way Im reading this, You can AOA Double, each as a rapid strike for 4 attacks each at (at least) -6.

Nymdok
You can only apply Rapid Strike to one of those attacks from the AoA double, so it's only 3 total, with two of them at -6 (or -3 if TBAM or WM applies). With Extra Attack, you'd get one more, although you might need Multi-Strike unless one of the attacks is a kick or something else not involving one of the hands already used.

As I understand it, Kromm's post notwithstanding, the answer is no.

From Campaigns, p. 370:

Quote:
Rapid Strike

A Rapid Strike is a melee attack executed swiftly enough that you get one extra attack. You must take an Attack or All-Out Attack maneuver, and you must use a ready weapon to make the extra attack. Make two attacks, both at -6 to skill. You can target multiple opponents this way.

If you already have multiple attacks, for whatever reason, you can replace one of them (and only one!) with two attacks at -6.
And from Martial Arts, p. 128:

Quote:
Rapid Strike (p. B370): Unless he took Move and Attack, a warrior can split one of his melee attacks into two attacks with the same weapon or two unarmed attacks, at an extra - 6. Those with Trained by a Master or Weapon Master take half the penalty, and may be able to attempt three or more attacks; see Rapid Strike (below).
So if you All-Out Attack (Double), you can convert one of them to a Rapid Strike, but not both. The non-penalised attack and one of the penalised attacks have to be against the same target, but the other penalised attack can be against a different target.

Of course, using the Chambara options for Rapid Strike, you could All-Out Attack (Double), take Rapid Strike with one of the attacks, and then attack three times with the Rapid Strike at -12 per attack (-6 if Trained by a Master) for a total of four attacks (-0, -12, -12, -12), but you couldn't Rapid Strike with both attacks for a total of four attacks (-6, -6, -6, -6).

EDIT: Ninja'd.

My answer didn't say that you could use Rapid Strike twice, only that you could use Rapid Strike with All-Out Attack and that I wasn't going into the details. Note the last part. The rules are quite clear on the fact that however many attacks you get, you can trade just one attack for one of Rapid Strike or Dual-Weapon Attack.
