Does a Curse that affects the party affect someone who has the Unicorn Steed.

Player A has a Hireling in play and Curse! Payroll Tax in his hand. Player A also has six cards in his hand and does not wish to pay charity. Player A notices that Player B has the Unicorn Steed, which makes Player B immune to curses that are played by other players. Player A plays Curse! Payroll Tax on Player B with the hope that the curse will have no effect due to the Unicorn Steed. However, the curse says that it affects the whole party. Will the curse still affect the whole party if the victim of the curse is immune to the curse? Thanks!

I believe it's affect the whole party, but when the affect gets to the unicorn it's stopped. An individual exception beats the general rule. :)

Payroll Tax says "This curse affects the whole party." Therefore, its effects happen regardless of who the Curse's target is. However, the player with the Unicorn Steed (and only that player) is immune to its effects when someone else plays the card.

Other Curses that affect the whole party may work differently; don't generalize this as a ruling covering all such cases.

I understand the question and all, but my question to this is simply this

Payroll tax makes the target discard an item, the rest of the party has to discard an item or items of equal value, how can the curse still take effect if the target is immune to the curse?

That's Income Tax. Payroll Tax is a different card.
