Didn't even know you can adapt! Might just use boxing and sumo wrestling alone then, and just adapt everything over to wrestling or boxing. Ty for the tips.

Just a quick question: Could you do a grappling parry with a leg? What would the modifiers be for that?

Yes you can.
GURPS Technical Grappling goes into it. I don't think GURPS Martial Arts really goes into that much detail though. It did not give much word count to Grappling.

By and large, using your legs is -2 to SKILL, which would imply a -1 to parry. But if you check No Fine Manipulators in Martial Arts, you'll see it's at -4, and I'd consider tacking that on to the leg penalty for detail work. So doing the things that carry the -4 for no fine manipulators *with your legs* as well would be -6 to skill, -3 to parry. So a grabbing parry with the legs would be a further -3.

Note that if I'm recalling correctly, grabbing parry has a whole slew of penalties - too many. I cover that on my blog somewhere

You are totally right cole. Its -2 just for grappling parry itself, -1 for unarmed and -1/-2 for grappling leg/arm and hand/feet.

And dont get starter on parrying weapons.

No wonder no-one does grappling parries IRL. XD

I guess its a good thing that some of the more ridiculous moves of kisat dur is so difficult. Keeps it more down to earth for the normal people. I'm just happy that you can get a 3d6+7 with a little help from sumo-wrestling and Jumping. Knew I would find a use for that skill after all.

TBH at this rate in going to have to start my own blog and start writing books for GURPS myself. I've only owned MA TG for under a week and I'm having discussions on homebrewed rules I've made for it .

Bring it on. We can show that pesky author he didn't know what he was doing, like ever.

Don't be like that baby, you know what I meant. The only rule I made was to make it possible to jump during an all out attack! Even though it uses sumo wrestling it is a strike, meaning that it doesn't have anything to TG!

Love TG btw.

Even though Sumo is a grappling skill there were a lot of aspects left out of TG to keep it on mission. Trust me a big part of the authors job was reigning in tangents the playtesters brought up.
Slams were definitely among those tangents!

Thanks. I was just teasing. Adapting strikes to sumo is pretty well supported by reality, by the way. Sumo practioners, though not "Sumo Wrestling GURPS" guys, do limited strikes (slaps, mostly), so you're in good company.

You might want to take a peek at The Grappling Mat section of my blog, though, since there are some things like damaging takedowns I cover there that didn't make the book.
