Re: They should really fix that in Cabaret Chicks on Ice!
This is not a Fix, it is but a set of humble requests.
One table, containing the cost, weigth etc of a homogenous DR that covers all hit locations but the eyes. Like the one in GLite, but expanded. For Example Code:
Armor DR TotalHP Cost Weight Light Leather 1 X Y Z Some of the ones Id love to see, realistic or not. Padded, Quilted, Cloth, Bone, Wood, Fur, Studded, Briggandine/Coat of Plates, Leather, Heavy Leather, Chain, Some other Chain, Scale, Banded, Splinted, 3 Gauges of Plate each for iron/bronze and Steel. And brief description of armor pieces. Haubrek, Lorica Segmentata, greave and solleret were all foreign words to me. Other humble adds. SIZES (approx) for shields in addition to their other stats. Small shield is 24-36" Diameter etc. Rough Bow dimensions and Crossbow dimensions wouldnt hurt either. Cost Factors for Higher ST Bows/Crossbows. i'll be back if I can think of anything else. :) Thanks, Nymdok Last edited by Nymdok; 06-16-2009 at 08:24 PM. |

Re: They should really fix that in Cabaret Chicks on Ice!
My main wish is for a better look at materials used to make weapons, as others have pointed out. For example, the "steel/Iron" issue. Steel is iron is steel. I don't think they should be two seperate materials for the sake of game rules. If Fine and Very Fine steel was limited to say, TL3 and TL4, then that wouldn't be bad, but I don't think it's accurate at all to say that TL2 weapons were automatically inferior than TL3 weapons, especially when there's a great amount of TL2 iron-age swords that have high carbon content.
I also don't like how bronze is considered Inferior to Iron/Steel. Bronze and Iron/Steel were often used alongside each other for numerous centuries. Bronze is certainly more expensive, which makes sense. But bronze is almost as good as many higher quality steels, and as such it strikes me as odd that steel is the only material that gains any real advantage for being fine/very fine.

Who did breach his NDA and sent a copy of the playtest files to Nymdok and Verjigorm, along with forwarded emails from the mailing list? These guys are cutting a little too close to the bone xD
