TBH, it all depends on how time, and the continuity of time for that matter, work in your universe. One could argue that a divergent timeline is created the moment time is messed with, with the old timeline never to be seen again. Then it doesn't matter if you stole the object from the future, from the past, wherever. Point is, you have it NOW and you're going to use it...
Any of the aforementioned methods can be used to obtain the object, either on demand (Snatcher), random chance (Serendipity), or some mixture thereof. Why puzzle it out and talk about paradoxes when it doesn't have to matter =) |
