Re: Virtual Table Top (VTT) support
That's understandable. I have not used GCS in so long I forgot about it myself. I second that request.

Re: Virtual Table Top (VTT) support
I think that officially supporting a Character Sheet on Roll20 would be a great thing. Not only would the fans get a new substantial game aid, the company would also be in control of what said sheet can or can't do. Interfacing it with GCA and/or GCS to allow characters to be imported is the kind of feature I'd pay money to have.
Of course, at some point in the future, AI storytelling robots will get smart enough to run GURPS campaigns for our kids by themselves. All we'll have to do is feed them some PDFs and specify some settings. |

Re: Virtual Table Top (VTT) support
I wonder what it would take to get Steve Jackson Games to take notice and to comment about all of this?

Re: Virtual Table Top (VTT) support
Here is something interesting I found on the Fantasy Grounds forum.
https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.p... This suggests that SJ Games is 'willing' to look at what someone else has done rather than they doing anything themselves. Perhaps that is what we need for Roll20? I know that Ken F. (Roll20 User id: 945632), has been working om and modifying the default GUPRS character sheet, aka Sheet #1 - Just maybe with a collaborate effort with other coders, of which I am not one, we might put together something for SJ Games endorsement. What are your thoughts? BTW: I posted this same message in the Roll20 forum thread - GURPS "Official" character sheet request to SJ Games: https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/61...st-to-sj-games

Re: Virtual Table Top (VTT) support
To me it means that Steve Jackson Games is not going to do anything except let some other people do all the work for them. They may just 'endorse' the work but still not support it or provide any compensation for those who did all the work for them.
Does not look promising at all.. Last edited by Drone 5; 03-14-2018 at 06:30 AM. |

Re: Virtual Table Top (VTT) support
GCS can export to HTML, and I'm pretty sure it saves as XML. I'm currently working on a GCS import tool for Mote, since it can already handle HTML5. Basically you create your character in GCS, export to HTML, import that to Mote, and the JS makes that HTML sheet clickable. Or at least that's the theory. I might go right to the XML if I can manage it.
For those unfamiliar Mote is essentially Maptool but better, and they actually have proper JS support, unlike Maptool's pretend version of JS support. You also get HTML5 and CASE, instead of HTML3 with no CASH support. |
