Default Cards with multiple bonuses.

So my question is about the cards that give different bonuses like the Santa Boots.
+2/+4 2 if you are fighting a monster that isn't a Santa or 4 if you are fighting a Santa.

That's pretty easy, but then you have cards that say

+2 (+4 for to women)

Becaues the bonuses are listed differently we've determined that the bonuses that are separated by a / because there are many those give an either or, but those that give a bonus then have an added bonus in () they get added to the main bonus, much like if you were using a hireling and adding a bonused item to it.

Is this correct?

Nope, it's always intended to be one or the other, unless there is explanatory rule text saying others. (The only exception I can think of is Heart of the Anomaly, where the bonus for Gadgeteers DOES replace the usual bonus, but the bonus for Wil Wheaton's signature is an additional +1. In our defense, we didn't write that card.)
