Default Stats for the FAMAS?

Just a quick check if I'm going blind or if there really are no stats for the FAMAS in any of the publications as yet?

EDIT: For 4th Edition that is.

Nope. But 5.56 weapons are all alike in stats, you can derive them easily.

The only thing I've found in the search is a 9-year-old post here on the forums, from Max Schreck, in which he stats it like this:
Quote:
GIAT FA-MAS, 5.56x45mm NATO, France, 1981
TL: 8
Damage: 5d pi
Acc: 5
Range: 800/3500
Wt.: 8
RoF: 16
Shots: 30+1 (3)
ST: 9
Bulk: -4
Rcl: 2
Cost: 1000
LC: 2

The official stats would look something like this:

TL 8
Weapon GIAT FA MAS F1, 5.56×45mm NATO (France, 1979-2000)
Damage 5d pi
Acc 5
Range 800/3,500
Weight 9.2/0.9
RoF 9/16
Shots 25+1(3)
ST 9B†
Bulk -4
Rcl 2
LC 2

Cheers

How did this not end up in High-Tech? Was it overlooked, or merged into a description of another gun?

There are thousands of guns which are not in High-Tech. The few ones which could actually end up in the book were carefully selected, parameters including historical relevance, numerical importance, technical brilliance, fictional prevalence, potential use in adventurous activities, and even my personal taste. Judged against these parameters, the FA MAS F1 didn't make it.

Cheers

Finite number of pages, near infinite number of guns? :)

Thanks Hans.

Well, I thought the FAMAS was in High-Tech. Every time I read the chapter or looked at the table for rifles, I was quite sure the FAMAS was in there somewhere. Imagine my surprise when I realized that I was wrong the whole time...

Most weapons use the same stats of other guns, frex, the FAMAS is just a bullpup 5.56 rifle.

+0.2 lb to weight
-0.1 lb to ammo weight
25 round clip, instead of 30.
RoF changed from (15).

Really, it's hard to come up with a reason to care about those differences.

I have a feeling it's to match the relative short range of the M16 and M16A1 which had a thin barrel and was prone to inaccuracy at long ranges. There's a big jump in 1/2 damage between the M16A1 and M16A2.
