Role-Playing Notes:
The Black Widow is cold, callous, and ruthless, enjoying her work as the devil's debt collector and enforcer. She has long stopped caring about anyone or anything, and has "bought off" any "good" disadvantages she may have had in the past.

Design Notes:
1. Magery 1 includes the price of Magery 0. It just looked odd putting them both on the sheet separately. The Demonic modifier on Magery 2 indicates that Satan can severely restrict her raw mystic power at his whim.
2. Yes, the Satan that empowers the Black Widow is the same Satan that fathered Hellstorm and Satana. Whether this Satan is Marduk Kurios - like in the mainstream comics - or some other entity remains to be seen, but he is not Mephisto.

Are there really two completely unrelated characters named Black Widow in the Marvel universe?

Yep. This one dates to 1940. From what I can find out, she was the first superpowered woman to wear a costume in comics; there were women who had powers but wore civvies, and women who wore costumes but had no powers, but the WWII Black Widow was the first to have both. (Wonder Woman came a few months later, from what I can tell.)

They stopped using the original Black Widow in 1943, after five appearances across three titles, and then used the name for Nat in '62 or '63 as an Iron Man antagonist. (And after 1957, they wouldn't have been able to use Claire until the Comics Code was weakened in the 1970s anyway, due to her origins.) They brought Claire back into continuity in 2007 with The Twelve, a title that revived twelve protagonists from Timely Comics (Marvel's WWII predecessor) in the modern day, using the plot device of forgotten Nazi mad science stasis capsules. Unlike most of the Twelve, she survived the title and is presumably still active, though forgotten.

(And for your reference, I have Natasha statted up already, though I haven't touched any other characters from the Soviet/Russian Black Widow program that have popped up recently, including apparently one that was active in WWII - Nat in the comics was born during WWII, from what I can tell, though flashbacks to a team-up between Captain America and Logan to save her life are inconsistent to whether Nat was an infant or a toddler at the time.)

And there was also Yelena Belova in the 2000's

Been trying to get back into the swing of things, actually get stuff done that I'd had planned... so here's something to help out.

ATHENA

Real Name: Pallas Athena.
Occupation: Goddess of war, domestic craftsmanship, and wisdom.
Identity: Athena's existence as anything other than a mythological being is unknown to the general public.
Legal Status: Citizen of Olympus with no criminal record.
Other Aliases: Athene, Athena Parthenos, Minerva (her Roman name), Virgin Mary (a case of mistaken identity), Molly Pitcher.
Place of Birth: Olympus.
Marital Status: Single.
Known Relatives: Zeus (father); Metis (mother), Poseidon, Hades, the Potamoi (uncles), Demeter, Hestia, Hera, Styx, the Oceanids (aunts), Artemis, Eris, Hebe, Persephone, Nyssa Savakis (half-sisters), Apollo, Ares, Dionysus, Hephaestus, Hercules, Hermes (half-brothers), Pallas (first cousin once removed, deceased); Oceanus, Cronus (grandfathers), Tethys, Rhea (grandmothers). For more details on her extended family tree, which includes all of the major gods and many of the ancient Greek heroes, consult Hesiod's Theogeny and other works.
Group Affiliation: Gods of Olympus.
Base of Operations: Mount Olympus.
First Post-Reboot Appearance: HERCULES: THE LEGEND CONTINUES #
History: Athena is the daughter of Zeus, king of the Olympian gods, and his first wife Metis, a second-generation Titan, born of Oceanus and Tethys (see Olympian Gods; Zeus). According to myth, the primordial earth goddess Gaea, progenitor of the Olympian pantheon, prophesied that Zeus's children by Metis would be powerful; any son by Metis would overthrow him, as he had overthrown his own father, Cronus, and Cronus his father Ouranos (see Gaea). Fearing this, Zeus tricked Metis into taking the form of a fly and then swallowed her. Athena was later born when Zeus received intense headaches, leading his son Hephaestus to cleave his head open with an adze; Athena then leaped out of Zeus's head, fully armed and armored. (One myth indicated that it was Metis forging Athena's armor and weapons inside him that gave Zeus the headache.)

How much truth there is in the mythological account is unknown, but it is unlikely that Zeus swallowed Metis or that Athena sprang from his head. Metis's own whereabouts since Athena's conception are unknown, however. At present, both Zeus and Athena hold that there is "little truth" to the myth, hinting that Metis was exiled after Athena's birth or possibly even before, with Athena being accepted as Zeus's daughter only after achieving adulthood.

Athena's activities in Mycenaean times are well documented by mythographers. The city of Athens has always been "her" city from the time of its founding, and the center of her worship in Classical times was in the Parthenon of Athens (which replaced a temple constructed during Mycenaean times). Her chosen name of "Pallas Athena" comes from when she accidentally killed her cousin Pallas, the daughter of Triton (son of Poseidon), while sparring (see Poseidon). She is known for her cursing of Arachne, and for her actions in assisting Perseus, Bellerophon, Hercules, and Odysseus in their respective heroic deeds (see Hercules). Her actions in the events leading up to and during the Trojan War, where she sided with the Achaeans (the Greeks) put her in conflict with her half-brother, Ares, who favored the Trojans (see Ares). In Roman times, Athena was worshipped by the name Minerva and sought mainly for her wisdom rather than her blessing in war. Like the rest of the Olympians, however, her worship faded with the rise of Christianity and Islam.

Unlike the other Olympians, however, Athena was not content to let the reverence of the Olympians fade. Acting subtly, she used the Muslims to preserve the knowledge and myths of the Olympians in written form from the Christians who were actively destroying those works. When she appeared to occasionally aid early Eastern Christians, she was often mistaken for the Virgin Mary (who became known in the early Eastern Roman Empire as a warrior maiden as a result). During the 15th and 16th Centuries, it was Athena who inspired many of the Italian Renaissance artists to render scenes out of Classical Greek antiquity. (There is some debate over whether she posed for the Mona Lisa.)

Athena has appeared in many other guises over the course of history. During the American Revolution, she inspired the folk tale of Molly Pitcher, appearing as or inspiring many women working the Colonial artillery. She has also been or inspired Harriet Tubman, Susan B. Anthony, and several other suffragettes, and has inspired many women soldiers in the late 20th and early 21st Centuries. She has even alluded to flying sorties for the United States over in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Athena's first confirmed appearance in modern times coincided with the awakening of deific power in her mortal half-sister Nyssa Savakis (see Savakis, Nyssa). At the time, she was having lunch with Hercules in Los Angeles, and investigated when Nyssa called down a bolt of lightning from the clear sky, thinking Zeus was up to no good. She soon came to the conclusion that Nyssa was Zeus's child and hence her half-sister, promising Nyssa assistance should she ever ask. It was Athena who proposed the "wait and see" approach to see how Herc's assistance of Nyssa would turn out to the other Olympians.
Height: 5' 10".
Weight: 510 lbs.
Eyes: Gray.
Hair: Brown with a slight auburn tint.
Uniform: None; will occasionally wear armor patterned after that of a Greek Hoplite, often complemented with a Corinthian helm and long red cloak. Her armor and helmet are made of orichalcum, a coppery metal forged by Hephaestus which is for all intents and purposes indestructible.
Strength Level: Athena possesses superhuman strength enabling her to lift (press) around 80 tons.
Known Superhuman Powers: In addition to her superhuman strength, Athena possesses the normal traits of an Olympian goddess, including superhuman durability enabling her to withstand incredible blows, and immunity to terrestrial diseases and poisons.

In addition to these powers, Athena has the deific ability to alter the appearance of others. She normally uses this power to assist mortals by disguising them to be nondescript, as she did with Odysseus, but on occasion has used it to curse people with animal forms like she did Arachne. This alteration normally lasts until a particular condition is met or until she dismisses the disguise.
Other Abilities: Athena is skilled in the arts of war as practiced by the ancient Greeks, and has kept up on military skills throughout the ages, including becoming an artillery woman and a skilled fighter pilot. She is also a highly skilled weaver and gourmet chef.
Allies: Athena is usually accompanied by a snow-white barn owl named Bubo, who often acts as both a familiar and a second set of eyes. She has also been seen on occasion with a brass and iron clockwork barn owl built by Hephaestus, which also answers to the name Bubo; it is not known how many clockwork Bubos she has access to. These owls, despite not speaking in the traditional sense, can make themselves understood to select mortals if they or Athena so chooses.
Weapons and Paraphernalia: Athena's orichalcum shield has the head of Medusa the Gorgon mounted on it, enabling her to petrify her enemies at will. Normally the petrification lasts for an hour. Her sword, spear, and armor are enchanted for increased ability, but otherwise have no special abilities.

And because I had to, here are Athena's familiar and his clockwork counterparts!

Bubo the Owl
Bubo is a snowy white barn owl who is Athena's near constant companion. Slightly larger than other owls, Bubo measures a full 18 inches long. He tends to be rather aloof and haughty when dealing with "lesser" beings - in his mind, that's all mortals and most Olympians, save Athena, Hermes, and Prometheus.

Bubo the Clockwork Owl
A clockwork owl of brass, iron, and orichalcum, crafted by Hephaestus for Athena when she circumvented an order by Zeus to send her beloved Bubo to one of the ancient heroes. It's unknown how many of these owls Athena has; she has said that one was stolen in the distant past by one of the Sumerian goddesses. Unlike the actual Bubo, these owls have a cheerful and helpful personality.

RONAN THE ACCUSER

Real Name: Ronan (family name unknown).
Occupation: Supreme Public Accuser of the Kree Imperial Accuser Corps, former soldier.
Identity: Ronan's existence is public knowledge in the greater galaxy; his existence is unknown to the general populace of Earth.
Legal Status: Citizen of the Kree Empire.
Other Aliases: None.
Place of Birth: Imperial City, Hala, Pama system, Kree Empire, Greater Magellanic Cloud.
Marital Status: Unrevealed, presumably single.
Known Relatives: None.
Group Affiliation: Head of the Imperial Accuser Corps of the Kree Empire; formerly the Kree Imperial Army.
Base of Operations: Imperial City, Hala, Pama system, Kree Empire, Greater Magellanic Cloud.
History: Ronan, although he grew up in an aristocratic family as one of the ruling Blue Kree, came from a family that suffered financially and politically by the Supreme Intelligence's policies expanding the rights and privileges of the White Kree majority (see Kree; Supreme Intelligence). (Because of his position, he never uses his family surname, which remains unrevealed.) As he grew to adulthood, Ronan formed the opinion that the Kree Empire should be ruled by a Blue Kree, not a computer, even one composed of a melding of ancient Kree brain uploads.

As an adult, Ronan served a few tours in the military rising to the rank of Colonel before being recruited by the Accuser Corps, the Kree secret police. Over the years he rose through the ranks of the Accusers until he was promoted to the post of Supreme Public Accuser, whose power in the Empire was second only to the Prime Minister and the Supreme Intelligence itself. As the Supreme Public Accuser, Ronan is referred to as "the Accuser."

As the Supreme Public Accuser, Ronan worked closely with Prime Minister Zarek, who also shared Ronan's views toward the Supreme Intelligence (see Zarek). The two hatched a plot to discredit the Supreme Intelligence and its policies, a plot which included the manipulation and framing of a prominent White Kree, with the end goal of overthrowing the Intelligence and seizing power for themselves.

The selected Kree, Captain Mar-Vell of the Kree Imperial Army, was selected to serve as a spy on a backrocket world that had decades before driven off an invasion fleet by the Kree's ancient enemies, the Skrulls (see Captain Marvel; Skrulls). Ronan kept close tabs on Mar-Vell's progress, occasionally relaying orders to Vell's commanding officer, Col. Yon-Rogg, in an effort to force Vell to disgrace himself by Kree law (see Yon-Rogg).

During this time, Ronan first came into conflict with the superhuman adventurers known as the Fantastic Four during the Four's first trip into Kree space (see Fantastic Four). At that time, he warned the Four that Earth "is at a crossroads, and must decide who to join, before the choice is made for" them. It is unknown whether he was referring to any present invasion plans by either the Kree or Skrull Empires or just indicating a trend other systems have experienced.

When Mar-Vell was arrested for a court martial and then escaped his cell, Ronan was pleased as it meant his and Zarek's scheme was proceeding nicely, if a bit ahead of schedule. He did not expect Vell to escape, though he remarked to Zarek that the events could work in their favor in the long run. He was not pleased, however, with the Supreme Intelligence's command that he work with his Pursuer Corps counterpart, Korath, to chase down and apprehend Vell, as he felt Korath was too idealistic and the Pursuers superfluous (see Korath the Pursuer).

When Korath gave him a set of coordinates but claimed business elsewhere, Ronan was immediately suspicious and assigned one of his own Accusers – ironically Mar-Vell's sister, Phyla-Vell – to shadow Korath (see Quasar). Based on Phyla-Vell's information, he arrived at the interstellar free port Port Nowhere moments after Mar and Phyla had talked (see Port Nowhere). Ignoring Phyla's pleas on her brother's behalf, Ronan declared her a traitor and blasted her through the free port's walls and into the gas giant Port Nowhere sits in. He then threatened Korath with the same sentence if the latter ever gave him bad intel again. Despite that, he failed to apprehend Mar-Vell, as the latter quickly fled the station to search for his sister.

Ronan and Korath have continued their pursuit of Mar-Vell and his growing band of renegades. Whether he knows or cares about the pending invasion of Earth by Yon-Rogg is unknown.
Height: 7' 5".
Weight: 480 lbs.
Eyes: Blue
Hair: Brown.
Skin: Blue.
Uniform: Metallic green chest armor with metallic gold arms and legs, metallic green faulds over the thighs and groin, metallic green gauntlets, metallic green boots, gold utility belt, green hood.
Strength Level: Due to biological enhancements given to him by the Accusers' physicians, Ronan possesses superhuman strength enabling him to lift (press) roughly 11 tons; his armor further enhances his strength enabling him to lift (press) roughly 80 tons.
Known Superhuman Powers: In addition to his superhuman strength, Ronan possesses a modicum of superhuman durability, granted to him by the Accuser Corps' resident physicians. This renders him impervious to most terrestrial conventional small-arms, though less resistant to the advanced energy weapons fielded by the interstellar powers.

As an Accuser, Ronan possesses a cybernetic implant which enables him to speak and read all known languages; this implant is also able to learn new languages that are encountered and not in its database (such as those of Earth).
Other Abilities: Ronan is a skilled melee combatant, soldier, and leader. He has also become a skilled politician.
Weapons and Paraphernalia: Ronan wears a suit of armor which renders him nearly impervious to harm; it does this through a combination of force field projectors and superior materials technology. This armor includes a strength-enhancing exoskeleton which enables him to boost his strength and a stealth system that can render him invisible. The armor includes gauntlets which produce a super-cold ice, which can place most beings in a state of suspended animation.

All Accusers carry weapons called "cosmic rods" (approximate English translation). As the Supreme Public Accuser, Ronan wields the most powerful and versatile of these cosmic rods. These cosmic rods can take the form of any melee weapon the wielder desires, but once the form is chosen, the form cannot be changed until it is attuned to a new user; Ronan's cosmic rod has taken the form of a giant hammer. Each cosmic rod uses cosmic energy in some as yet unknown manner to create a variety of effects controlled by the user's will. Among the capabilities displayed by Ronan's cosmic rod are the disintegration, rearrangement, and transmutation of matter, the projection of a variety of forms of energy, the absorption of energy, localized control over gravity, and the creation of force fields and temporal stasis fields. He can also call the cosmic rod to him at will.

† Includes +10/+100 from Super ST.
‡ Includes +3 from Administrative Rank and +3 from Wealth.
§ Upgraded from Intolerance (Skrulls) from the Blue Kree racial package.
# Includes +3 from Intuitive Statesman.
¥ Includes +3 from Natural Copper.
¶ Defaulted from Intimidation.

Role-Playing Notes:
Ronan is a ruthless and ambitious man who honestly and truly believes his racist Blue Kree supremacist rhetoric. He never forgets a slight against him.

Design Notes:
1. This build, and the High TL trait in the Blue Kree racial package, assumes a campaign TL of 8, as would be encountered on modern-day Earth. In any cosmic campaign, the campaign would be considered a TL 11 setting, reducing Ronan's point cost by 15 points and increasing his Starting Money to $1.5 billion (20% of Starting Wealth).
2. The point cost of the Cosmic Rod (what in the comics has been called the "Ultimate Weapon") has yet to be determined. As a placeholder, until I can kit-bash it together and apply the Metatronic Generator rules (from Pyramid #3/46), I'm simply setting 100 points aside for it as a Signature Gear item.

Do you have a write up of this style, or is based on an existing version of Military Hand to Hand?
