A) No, there are no Aliens in this setting.

B) Lost Race Aliens are part of the setting.

C) Extraterrestrials are part of the setting.

In this poll you may have one or two votes. If A gets the most votes, no Aliens. If A comes in second, then the option that A beat is out. If A comes in third, then both basic types of Alien are in.

We will decide about Aliens PCs after we decide about Aliens. As usual, the concept will be refined later.

A) No, there are no Aliens in this setting.

1 B) Lost Race Aliens are part of the setting.

1 C) Extraterrestrials are part of the setting.

You get three votes, put two on your first choice and the other on any of the three you like.

All three of my votes go to Pulp.

2 A) Pulp

1 B) WWII

C) Cold War

In case of ties Aliens get the benefit of the doubt, i.e. a tie is a win for either B or C.

The vote so far...

A) Pulp 11

B) WWII 5

C) Cold War 11

Given how this is going, I begin to think you guys want a highly Pulpy Cold War Setting with no WWII.

After we decide when broadly we'll narrow it down. Please suggest subcatagories within Pulp and the Cold War that would appeal to you. As with types of origins throw anything against the wall, I'm open to inspiration.

After we've settled the present questions we'll start on power levels and what types of powers.

Some Sub-Categories of the Pulp Era with accompanying heroes (and memorable villains) in the in which they were introduced (or during which they were active):

Fin de Siecle: 1890-1900. (Sherlock Holmes, Allan Quartermain, Dracula, Dr. Jeckyl/Mr. Hyde)

The New Century: 1900-1913 (Detective Nick Carter, Tarzan, John Carter of Mars, Fu Manchu, Fantomas)

The Great War: 1914-1918 (Enemy Ace, G8 and his Battle Aces, everyone from the previous category)

Gangland/Prohibition/Weimar Republic: 1918-1932 (Jules De Grandin, Randolf Carter, The Continental Op)

The Great Depression/The Rise of Fascism/The birth of the hero pulps: 1933-1939 (The Shadow, The Spider, Doc Savage, The Avenger, Batman, Superman, Operator Number 5, Domino Lady, The Phantom Detective)

"The Pulp Era" goes into the 40s, of course, but since WWII had it's own category, I'm leaving it out.

Obviously many of these characters lasted into later eras (Doyle was writing Holmes stories into the 20s, and Fu Manchu lasted into the 50s!)

I'll leave the Cold War to someone more knowledgeable about that era than myself.
