Socialization is not similar to combat though, as people's beliefs do not collapse simply because you present contradictory information or new ideas. It is more like diseases and poisons, as contradictory information and new ideas will infest an individual and plague their mind with doubts. In response to the mental pain caused by doubts, most individuals reject contradictory information and new ideas.

Some of the examples made above (two merchants both satisfied with the deal they got; propaganda efforts) make it clear that many social interactions are not "combat-like".

However, there also are social interactions that are like combat.

They are, nevertheless, covered by GURPS Social Engineering, by adding further detail to the existing GURPS mechanics. Debates, for instance, are a form of verbal dueling, and they are covered, p. 34. Intimidation or Manipulation also are adversarial forms of social interaction, and they are covered, too.
