Dungeon Fantasy for 10 bucks?
Just a suggestion...
Get the pdf version of Dungeon Fantasy for sale on rpgnow for 10 dollars. Just like Pathfinder did with their Core Rulebook. Combine the softcover books into a single volume...and sell as print on demand. I think the game would get some traction... Just my two cents... :) |

I think it's worth quite a bit more than that. I think the product is still very new for that level of discount.

Re: Dungeon Fantasy for 10 bucks?
Pathfinder was new when it sold for that price and it worked out okay for Paizo...helping push sales of physical product and introduce the curious to the system (although I appreciate they had a massive head start with it being D&D etc). I wouldn’t think SJG are getting much traffic from potential customers at the current pricing...highlighted by the fact they have already dropped the production of DFRPG. This might be a way to inject some life back into it and get people interested for almost no extra effort. Just a thought. It’s what I’d do. I like the game and think it could be much more popular and successful than it is.

Re: Dungeon Fantasy for 10 bucks?
$10 gets people to buy the rulebook hoping they’ll grab the other books afterwards. That’s only useful if there is an onslaught of further products expected.
What they should consider is just the Adventurers PDF at $10. It’s a more reasonable price, and allows players to get just enough to get started, assuming they’re not trying to be spellcasters and the GM has the rest of the books. It’s silly that every player must buy Monsters and I smell a Rat, and probably encourages illegal practices in places where Adventurers (and eventually Spells and Exploits) would otherwise be purchased.
