Re: More Perilous Journeys: Now LIVE on Kickstarter
I just released five files.* The one "bonus freebie" plus four of the five promised files. Updates to three; fresh files for the other two.
New Releases Available in backers email box and download file now are
Sorry these took so long. These are adventures three and four of the "Jok Sevantes series." Updated There are errata fixes and some other tweaks to
Progress I did make progress on The Sunken Library as well. I chatted with SJ about a few magic items, and revised some things based on feedback from playtesters. Right now, 80% of the art is commissioned, and I expect to see the last two pieces enter the sketch phase tomorrow, having secured preliminary agreement from the last artist via FB Messenger tonight. Gotta work out pricing and then it's on. With only 1-2 pieces for each artist, I've asked for a "sooner than 10 days" delivery. That leaves a whole lot of NPCs to minimize the load on the GM, but these are just in "quick-stat" format, so this should take hardly any time. So we're doing rather a lot better than we were shortly ago...and I have every expectation of excellent progress over the next few days on finishing up the wordsy bits, but it's going to be a week or two before all the interior and counter art is done. Errata? There always seems to be something. The usual rules for errata apply: rules errors, typos, formatting goofs, and other flat-out errors are obviously "please tell me." Style and clarity suggestions need to leave the layout intact, so be judicious. Submit errata here. (I mean, I hope we stomped all the bugs, but come on...bugs are persistent. Goofs find a way, as Ian Malcolm would say) Pre-Orders! If any of this sounds good, it's not too late to get in on the game. Until the files go to print, it's not too late to pre-order!

Note that Belladonna, Ironskull Castle, Dragon Hunt!, and Dark Lord's Doom are all notionally set in the same locality. Or at least within spitting distance. One of the characters in DLD is a former Ironskull mercenary, and Baraon Gwalathar of DLD is the absentee commander from Dragon Hunt. David has indicated he enjoys this locale, and could develop it more as a sandbox. The five books of the Jok Sevantes series also sketch out a bit of an open-play arena. We have the city-states of Olan-Pok, Val-Zea, Hal-Bar (only mentioned in passing). Yalinoor is mentioned as the home of the Indhyna League. Karamorn and Nran have their own things going too. Athan is basically a hellscape after the events in Catacombs. But any of these, or all of them together, could be plunked down as a "prequel" or "sequel" sandbox for further adventure and exploration. Lastly, there's my pseudo-Viking realm of Nordlond. That has a lot going for it, and stripping out the "gods walk the lands and get freaky with the populace" out of it and using the core setting as a sandbox is also possible, even easy. Things would have to be adjusted to account for different flavors of magic, but frankly, the lower-power play inherent to TFT has a lot to recommend it, and would be really spiffy. So...what's next? You tell me!

I would snap up a TFT version of Nordlond in a heartbeat.

Re: More Perilous Journeys: Now LIVE on Kickstarter
Good question. A trivial part of my answer is to urge you to continue your plans to publish the small compilations of NPCs, which I think will be super helpful and see a lot of use at the table. The more important question is whether to do another round of adventures or produce something else that complements the adventures. This is hard to answer because the adventures are really good, so who wouldn't want more? On the other hand, by the middle of this spring we'll have 24 really good published adventures (10 from you; 10 from the SJGames books of adventures; Tolenkar's lair; Red Crypt; DT I and II). That doesn't quite add up to what I see when I examine my compendium of classic TSR modules, but it is of the same order of magnitude. When we turn to 'meso-scale' settings, there isn't very much. We now have Ardonirane, which is superb and includes a city and its surroundings. We have the small setting found in Book of Unlife, which is also superb. And we have a couple pages in the core book. So, I think things along the lines of small sandboxes, cities and other similar regional adventure settings might be a more exciting next contribution. I just encourage you (and everyone else) to not get lost in the sauce' of a big scale setting and put out a tome of narrative text about histories and blah, blah, blah. What I love in a setting book is material I will directly use at the table. Ardonirane is great in this respect. The Goodman Games treatment of Lankhmar is another excellent recent example.

In the new updates to errata, were the changes all over, or just a few pages? I would rather replaces pages rather than the whole thing if possible.
nice work by the way! |

Re: More Perilous Journeys: Now LIVE on Kickstarter
Since my return to the GM chair, we've been through
The one thing on that list I've made myself is the Olan-Pok Games (which makes me think I should write it up for submissions somewhere) and the content being developed has been a godsend. I'm going to be sending them on to the next Jok Sevantes set once the Sunken Library is ready for prime time so I can plan everything out. So what would I like to see next? With Adorinane out, I wouldn't mind seeing some adventures there. I would also love to see a sourcebook with adventure hooks for the Olan-Pok etc. area that's been hinted at in the Jok Sevantes modules. I've also bought the Rainy City which would be an amazing place to send my group to - adventures set in and around there (publisher is Superhero Necromancer). |

Re: More Perilous Journeys: Now LIVE on Kickstarter
Rainy City is simply the bomb; any TFT fan should have a copy. It isn't canonical TFT, but it was originally created for the system and it shows. It's nominally systemless but the translation to TFT is pretty much on the fly.
