Something new for a modern-day reliquary, or Warehouse 13 perhaps.

Octopuses thrive in the warmer, more acidic waters that result from Global Warming.

Cthulhu is marshaling his troops.

Just about every ecological disaster helps some life form. At least this is one is giving something cute rather than mutant pond scum. Better Cute-thulhu than Sludgy Blob.

Using non-invasive, portable X-ray fluorescence spectrometry, a team of Italian and Egyptian researchers confirmed that the iron of the dagger placed on the right thigh of King Tut's mummified body has a meteoric origin.

Made of non-rusted, homogeneous metal, the finely manufactured blade features a decorated gold handle. It is completed by a gold sheath garnished with a floral lily motif on one side and with a feathers pattern on the other side, terminating with a jackal's head.

Also, the dagger is the only known way to kill Vandal Savage.

Though if Savage obtains the dagger for himself, not all hope is lost, as "the dagger blade is not the only celestial object found in the boy king's tomb. His pectoral, or necklace, features an amulet scarab which is not 'greenish-yellow chalcedony,' as Carter had noted, but Libyan desert silica glass. The glass was produced by the impact on the sand of a meteorite or comet."

So there's more than one Thanagarian artifact available from Tut's tomb.

As much sympathy for the libertarian cause as I have, this definitely qualifies as Real-Life Weirdness: Libertarian party chairman candidate strips on stage.

Also, Sheep high on cannabis go on psychotic rampage.

Elite's AI created super weapons and started hunting players.

Scientists have proposed preventing tornado formation by building enormous walls in Tornado Alley.

http://www.worldscientific.com/page/.../2014-06-23-02

They'll be maintained and patrolled by a ragged band of scoundrels who chose the Watch and the Wall over the rope and the drop, I'm sure.

But will they make the tornadoes pay for the walls?

I just got a report from TASS that there's a proposal in RF to pass a law that will allow motorcyclists to pay a smaller vehicle tax in exchange for signing an agreement that makes them organ donors in case of their death. Cyberpunky, eh?
