That's a traditional usage in many RPGs, actually. I remember seeing "he is the player and she is the GM" in example-of-play text from the early 1980s, although I can't recall which titles in particular used that convention. (Maybe - and I repeat maybe - this was first used by Flying Buffalo, perhaps?)
