France, in spite of many political problems, took to the new technologies fairly quickly and well. At present France is the strongest power in Europe and they're enjoying the fact that Britain, Germany, and Russia, are all aware of this.

The French are going into spaceflight in a big way. In this setting the Void Engineers, backed by the other Lab Rat Conventions and the Trads has driven the American space program to a moonbase, several O'Neill type Space Colonies. One of these Colonies has been set on a transfer orbit to Mars Orbit. Once it gets there in 2035, Ion Drive Rockets are set to meet with this new base and stage a Mars landing. The French intend to beat the Americans to Mars. They are nominally doing this within the European Space Agency.

The Low countries and those lands called Scandinavian by English speakers, have also embraced the new technolgies, other European nations are playing catch-up. French dominance is resented to the degree a nation is having trouble catching-up.

More later.

Turkey is doing fairly well and is pleased to see Russia in a bind. Most of the Arab lands (Tunisia and Morrocco being the exceptions) are doing poorly as is Iran. Oil exporting nation are largely broke and/or on the edge of revolution. Israel is doing fairly well, mainly because her Arab neighbors are in free fall.

Feel free to jump in an offer your take and/or ideas.

What sort of adventures would you have in this crossover?

This USA has a social welfare system that compares favorably with that of the Scandinavian nations in the eyes of Progressives. Crime is at an all time low. The arts, both high culture and popular are booming and vibrant.
I like it, even if it does lean a bit bright and shiny. :)

I'd suggest a Technocratic leaning Left and a Hermetic leaning Right in the United States.

Neither the Hermetics nor the Technos belong on the Right/Left axis.

As for bright and sunny, Jetson's on the surface, World of Darkness below. The Vamps are in a fury, most of the Werewolves are disoriented, and the Cathayan Vampires are seeking to infiltrate and destroy. The Changelings are happy, the arts scenes are as busy and vital as in the 1950's and 60's. Movies are as creative as the 1930's and 40's in Hollywood.

Both the Dalou'laoshi and the Nephandi want to take civilisation down, for different reasons. The Vampires, both Cainite and Cathayan, want to make society stop and stand still. Within the Technocratic Union, both the New World Order and the Syndicate think the tech surge was an insane idea. So you'd be playing games of conspiracy. Trying to thwart evil plans and desperate gambits.

The Proteus Virus is fairly well developed in this senario, more than half the population has been genefixed. No Physical Defects is the most common, both No Mental Defects and No Unattractive are becoming widespead. In many ecconomically advanced countries, almost all children are being born with these three Zero-Point traits.

Many people have bought the Alpha-Upgrade transformation. Parahuman transformations only effect the offspring of the person who takes the Proteus Virus. But more and more of the children of the wealthy are being born Ziusudra parahumans.

The Proteus virus is stictly illegal in Europe. The fact that many thousands of the rich and powerful have gone to America and Japan to get upgrades is a scandel that is rocking European society. The French speak openly of ending the ban and upgrading their entire population into Ziusudras or something better. The Germans and the English are up in arms and bitter at a loss of control.

I probably will need a new term for Ziusudras perhaps something relating to Indian or East Asian culture.

Ziusudras are a parahuman type in GURPS Transhuman Space: Changing Times. They have plus one to all stats and doubled lifespan (but they mature at the same rate as normal humans). They're a highly fashionable Homo superior genotype in regular THS.
