Re: GURPS Horror is out!
I've gotten at least one other report from someone who is having problems with the PDF, but this is (obviously) a sporadic problem, so we're having a hard time diagnosing it. (I have a fairly diverse spread of computers around here, and they've all been fine.)
If anyone is having troubles with the Horror PDF or preview, please let us know as many details as you can (what program(s) and operating system you're using, any error messages you see, etc). Send those notes to e23@sjgames.com and also CC me directly at smarsh@sjgames.com. Thanks in advance! |

Re: GURPS Horror is out!
Works fine for me on Chrome running Vista.
I would say hes probably missing a font or his reader is out of date and doubt its the browser itself. |

Re: GURPS Horror is out!
One more question that may influence my decision to buy: how good is advice on designing "master" versions of monsters? I've sometimes thought of running a Banestorm game where the PCs eventually discover the Emperor is a demon, but I have a hell of a time imagining the final showdown...

Perhaps we should split the difference? Perhaps he meant "punks."

Re: GURPS Horror is out!
Well, one of the advantages of the Adobe PDF format is the ability to embed fonts... so even if someone's missing a font, the PDF should still be able to be designed so he can read it. (It's entirely possible we didn't flip a switch correctly somewhere, and that's what the issue is...) Unfortunately, I can't do most of the "heavy lifting" of this investigation until Monday or so, when the office is back open... but hopefully I'll accumulate enough info that I'll be able to get the pieces together quickly on Monday.

I also get an error about an Embedded Font, but everything else seems to display fine. |

Re: GURPS Horror is out!
I don't have the PDF of Horror (Waiting for the dead tree, since it's not immediately useful for my current DF campaign, though I keep hearing things like stress points, derangement points and corruption points that tempt me), but could you check how it displays in Google Docs? Don't share it publicly though, and it should be the same as having the books on a cloud drive such as Dropbox.
