So far I like Chemistry, Forensics, Alchemy, and Biology: Biochemistry and Microbiology.
Any others pop at you guys?

Re: Skills for a hypothetical Lab Work talent
It also depends upon the type of lab; where I work, the majority of the labs are electrical or chemical oriented, if you ignore our testing facilities (which can conceivably include a lot of different skills, from Electronic Operations for operating sensor or tracking equipment to operations skills for the things we test to...; the list goes on). The electronics labs would need Electronics Repair and maybe Engineer; any lab could make use of Computer Programming for something like LabView if your lab work talent is supposed to also include setting up the tests.
Hazardous Materials is a skill you should definitely have up there, though. |

Re: Skills for a hypothetical Lab Work talent
I now realize Lab Work might be too vague and expansive.
I want my character to excel at all things related to chemistry. Looking at everything that defaults to Chemistry gives me Chemistry (duh) Biology: Biochemistry Forensics (not sure why it never defaults from chemistry) Explosives: Fireworks Metallurgy Pharmacy: Synthetic Poisons Hazardous Materials: Chemical

Re: Skills for a hypothetical Lab Work talent
Physicists do lab work. For that matter, so do experimental psychologists. And back in the days when universities often had home economics departments, there was lab work for cooking.

Re: Skills for a hypothetical Lab Work talent
For the talent, consider adding the Biological and Nuclear specialties as well. Also, NBC Suit skill.

Re: Skills for a hypothetical Lab Work talent
I'm not a fan of too huge of talents. So I'm going to have to tighten my concept a bit.
Chemical master: Alchemy Chemistry Explosives: Fireworks Pharmacy: Synthetic Biology: Biochemistry Metallurgy

Re: Skills for a hypothetical Lab Work talent
That's one of the very few talents that includes chemistry, true. But outside of mysteries like C.S.I. / Criminal Minds settings, it doesn't seem very cohesive to me.
Chemistry and psychology have nothing in common and shouldn't be on the same talent.
