Default Flashing Ads

Truly your forgiveness I implore, O Glorious and Great Andrew (May your reign of terror be long and peaceful and prosperous for the Forum), but I too shall dare raise my voice in (mild) complain :
I find Flashing Ads unpleasant, disruptive and annoying. Doubly so on a smartphone with the page zoomed in to be readable.
See my previous post on the subject in 2010: http://forums.sjgames.com/showpost.p...59&postcount=8

SJG forums have some of the better advertising insertion I know of, and yours ads are relevant and even induced purchase from me in the past, but Fast Flashing Ads were a pain 7 years ago and still are.
May I humbly suggest you google "blinking text accessibility" ?

I also find them to be annoying. Less so when I wear my polarized glasses, but that pair isn't my reading perscription.

Flashing ads lead to ad blockers, please stop using them.

At least AdBlock Plus allows you to allow most of a site's ads, while being able to block individual ads. I'm fine with any other ads here, but, I've specifically blocked that Gen Con ad.

I found them amusingly retro, but I wouldn't want to see them regularly.

That more or less mirrors my response. They didn't bother me. I looked at it, shrugged, and then scrolled down (moving it out of the view pane).

A once-in-a-while thing? OK. All the time? No thanks.

I *do* have mild photosensitivity, but the ad didn't bother me. I even deliberately stared at it to see if I'd zone out, but I was fine. In general, I'm okay with flashing ads when they're so small and easily scrolled off-screen.

Nobody wants to see them regularly, that's why they're retro.

I found I was scrolling them out of sight reflexively, and hadn't noticed what they were about.
