Default [Gurps Horror] Corruption

Hey people,

While reading GURPS Horror, I came to the Corruption part which started giving me a headache about two things:

1) If a character has 1 point of corruption, it must roll weekly with possible penalties or that corruption will become negative CP to his sheet. But here is the point, it says -1 for every 25 points of corruption, but if I have Will 9 and 1 point of corruption and fail my roll?

There are not enough points for a -1, how would that work?

2) About the "chip away" good disadvantages, so effectively, the corrupted gains +1 CP instead of losing? How would that work?

Can someone define the "chipping away" procedure?

Thanks in advance!

No, you roll at -1 per full 10 points of corruption.

Nothing happens. It specifies 25 full points of corruption. Don't bother rolling until you have 25 points, unless the GM wants to do something Evil to you on a critical failure.

He gains +1 CP and becomes a less nice person - NOT the person the player designed when he started.

Corruption isn't about reducing your point total, it's about making you Evil.

the "ship away", I believe, is meant to add a bad disadvantage (greed etc.) by replacing the "good" ones (charitable). so there is no net gain but the character will start to change his attitude and out look.

You sure? I thought that it would be treated just as Traits gained in play (from B291).

What I meant was a -1 CP for every 25 Corruption, I understand the way I said it seemed wrong... =)

Additionally, I'd like to make a third question...
3) On magic, it states that for every black penalty point you got, you get -1 on castings not aided by "the darkside"...
How would this new corruption system arrange those penalties?

Thanks!
