Years ago I wrote reviews for Advanced Melee and Advanced Wizard which are hosted on the RPG Geek website.

I never got around to reviewing In The Labyrinth, but I'll now get a chance with the new edition. 😊😊😊

One more from Vindicator magazine:

Marx Gladiators - Melee Scenario Generation by Kenneth Van Pelt Vol 1, No 5b Nov 1996, p1

describing how Melee rules were used with miniatures for Roman gladiatorial combat.

"The ghoulish beasts that lust after wizard meat in this game include dragons . . . giant snakes, bears, gargoyles, and myrmidons." - John, Filiatreau, "Wizards make a comeback in war games," The Courier-Journal, October 12 1978

Hi Phil,
That newspaper article is illegible to me. Any chance that its text can be put on a webpage somewhere?

Warm regards, Rick.

Pretty interesting article, though the author was dead wrong about why Wizard cost $3.95 back in the day...
