I can see a common case for converting damage into deceptive: attacking from an unexpected angle, or at an unexpected time; not because it's difficult to attack from, but because the leverage to apply force is missing.

For example, if you take a roundhouse kick and swing from the inside (as in, your leg bends into the hips as opposed to the outside), you'll lose power, but it's unexpected. Or if you turn your body to give power to your right, and you strike with your left.

From there, you simply apply the telegraphic attack rules, and you trade damage for to hit chance.
