Add a Mark III Ogre ($50?), plus shipping and we're talking $400+ just to play the basic scenario!

Somehow, I'm strangely ok with that...! Is that wrong?

PS...the Advanced Scenario with 20 armor and 30 infantry would run $500 before the Mark V Ogre, which I couldn't even begin to guess at that cost...

It may be slightly less expensive to build your own with balsa, bass wood, plastic sheet, and random bits - http://s418.beta.photobucket.com/use...02296035525577.

Of course, it will take a lot of time ;-)

Now that is amazing.

What did you make the tread units out of?

The Ogre treads? Those were molded from a scratch built model. The guy who built/sculpted the model is Joel Frock. He has been out of touch for a few years, though he was on Facebook last I checked.

Joel only molded 10 of the 15mm scale MK IIIs back in 2005 and only sold them for the cost of the materials. He was not interested in making more. I believe that he destroyed the molds.

I am planning on building a 15mm scale MK V this fall. Perhaps I will document the build on Photobucket.

Do you have a partern for the different pannels used to make the Ogre and the Super Heavy? It looks like it could be a fun project to try, but I'm not good enough to figure it out from scratch.

I don't remember who owned them, but the full line of Macroture sized vehicles made the tour of the WarZone conventions in Florida back in the mid '90s. There were Macroture scale PE superheavy, heavy, light, and missile tanks, GEVs, howitzers, command centers, infantry stands, and Combine Mk IIIs and Mk Vs. Games were played on the floor using astroturf style carpeting and proper scale terrain and the play area was something like 15' x 20' or more. Lots of fun, but you always had to be aware of where you were stepping to avoid a costly mistake.

With the advances in 3D printing, perhaps the macrotures may become feasible again. CAD files already exist for the injection mold tooling. 3D prints would be perfect for small production runs.

I would buy a larger scale Paneuro Missile Tank in a heartbeat. It is my favourite armour unit in the game. One is not enough to justify a production run, but perhaps they could be offered through a service like Shapeways?
