How would you build this power?
Hi everyone!
I'm starting this thread to ask about a power I would like to build, but anyone who'd like to ask about how to build a power is welcome to post their questions here. Enhanced Compartmentalised Mind You can literally work "in two minds" even when it comes to physical maneuvers, and as a result you get two maneuvers each turn, either of which can be mental or physical. Unlike ATR, each maneuver must be performed by one side of your body, so for example, you can All Out Attack (Double) with your weapon arm and kick on that side, and then All Out Defend with your shield arm. This power is based on an ability from one of the most famous wuxia novels. At first I just eyeballed it at 100 points, since while it is less useful than ATR, most notably being you cannot move twice in a turn, it provides some benefits such as mental separation, and being able to concentrate on a long task while doing something else, which ATR doesn't. But I still feel 100 points might be a tad too expensive. Would anyone have any idea how to build this "properly" using existing advantages, enhancements and limitations? Thanks! |

Re: How would you build this power?
Maybe -25% on ATR for 75 points seems most likely.

Re: How would you build this power?
That would be the same price as one level of Compartmentalised Mind and Extra Attack, so I thought it might be a slight bit not expensive enough - although having the two work together to produce new benefits isn't unreasonable either.
Edit: For the advantage to work as it is, it should also include Ambidexterity for 5 points, so building it piecemeal like this should cost 80 points. Last edited by ismenis; 09-16-2016 at 05:01 AM. |

Re: How would you build this power?
I once started similar thread though the premise was more distinct about body parts: forums.sjgames.com/showthread.php?t=143147
Though it hadn't come to conclusion, it still may answer something.

Re: How would you build this power?
Lots of initials makes this thread hard to read hard I'm assuming
ATR - altered time rate ETS - enhanced time sense I would probably go with altered time rate and use the accessibility negative modifier If the only limitation was they can't move twice I would go with -10% Only getting to use each body part once and only getting to move once seems to bump it to -20% My build doesn't include ambidexterity but it isn't required. Having a character that mostly used sword and shield might not have and another fighter might just have off hand training and two weapon training.
