Default *.gca4 to print to something GCS can read?

Trying to move my game over to a VTT and for whatever reason it reads gcs files but not gca4 files.

For ease of my sanity, it'd be easier if there was something that printed out to a gcs related file so I can upload it easier.

If not, I understand... but figured if I checked in here I'd find a little more (hopefully) than the hours I've spent trying to get something to convert nicely.

Thanks guys. :)

I'm not aware of anything to do that, sorry.

It seems like it would be simpler to write an export that copies whatever it is that GCS exports, that the VTT then reads in. I'm not aware of any VTTs that read data from GCS or GCA directly, most seem to use export filters of some kind to get a format that they then import.

That's typically what it is. There's a XML / txt file exporter that *should* in theory work just fine, but when GCA exports the file to text there's a missing ; somewhere in the file (I'm gonna say towards the end because it's always an obnoxiously high number it's missing in). I've spent most of today trying to find out where the problem is but I'm afraid my GCA expertise ends with basics of coding that you and a few others have helped with, the export file I am just lost on.

That sounds a lot like the script writer didn't take something into account, or didn't adjust for something; maybe even a fence-posting issue or a special character code missing a closing ';'. There's a lot of possible data to deal with, so it can be hard. Hopefully the folks who maintain the export script can figure it out for you, because that's going to fix things much faster, and with a solution that likely won't just pop up again with another character down the line.

I believe I saw elsewhere that you're using Foundry? I'm on the GURPS discord, and the Foundry folks know they can contact me if they need to, but I suspect they'll figure this out for you pretty quickly.

Nice. :) And yes I'm using that as well. :)
