Default Car Wars Tournament at Emerald City Comic Con

My triple scale Car Wars Classic tournament is coming to Emerald City Comic Con on Saturday March 14th!

This is being held at the Washington State Convention Center (Seattle WA), with the first game starting at 10:30 a.m. This is being played with the Classic 4th edition rules on a triple-scale 3D version of KEAR Coliseum. No experience is needed to play.

As with all of my tournaments, the overall victor gets to take home a trophy!

VROOM VROOM!
PEW PEW!

You should try using a 3 phase movement chart (basically 5th ed movement)

It makes for speedy play and intense moments :D

Dear Magesmiley,

Is the ECCC Car Wars Tournament still scheduled for Saturday, March 14th, or has it been moved to Wednesday, March 11th?

Ugh. 14th. Has been edited. Second time in a week that I've been looking at the wrong month.

Please post pictures and a rough play by play when this is complete, so I can live vicariously. Good luck.

I actually run it by the book. The only additions are a few play aids to make the game easier and smoother to play (a speed/handling tracker using pegs and some tokens to keep track of who has fired and changed speed). It actually works out pretty well.

Curious: what materials do you use for the arena?
Inquiring minds want to know.

Thanks

Curt

For building the arena itself?

The one that I am bringing to ECCC (KEAR Coliseum) is built from foam insulation board, plastic wall panels (these are like a really big sheets of thick plasticard), wooden dowels, quite a bit of paint, varnish, glue and other adhesives, some paper and adhesive sheets, a couple of big rolls of elastic, and some black duct tape. Also for the flight stands, some acrylic bases with plastic standoffs.

My other arena (Rainbow Bay Blast Furnace): plywood, mirrors, wall repair filler and sand, lots of paint, varnish, plasticard, paper and adhesive sheets, a few screws, adhesives and glue, some clear acrylic rods, overhead transparency sheets.

For my third arena (under construction and not ready yet) I'm experimenting a bit with some of the Castle Molds line cast in dental plaster.

At some point, we need to get together -- I have a 3D of My Arena (and I mean: It's named for me :) ), which needs some repair work and alterations (like: Making it so it can be disassembled for transport); and I have no idea how to make the "corner" boards curve. (Also: I have Cats....)
