Default Zen Archery and Blind Fighting

Hello all, this is my first post in the forums here.

So, down to business:
In the BB, it says:
If you also know Zen Archery
(p. 228), you can shoot targets without
seeing them by making rolls on both
skills at -6.

Now, my question is; does the Zen Archery roll need to include its standard time-taken modifiers (I.E. -10 for no preparation, -5 for one second, etc.), or does the -6 roll supersede this, since it's not the primary use of the skill?

Welcome to the forums! To answer your question, you generally add all penalties from unique sources. So in this case, you add the -6 for not being able to see your target to any penalties for time taken.

Thanks for the welcome!
Alright, thanks for the answer :D
Though, I'm no longer sure about doing this on my build, since it'll take 60 points in Zen Archery on top of perception 16 to get SL 13 while doing this instantly XD
I guess if I actually take the time to do it right, it'd be okay, though XD

Id always thought it was a flat -6 for the 'avoid blindness' part, the -10 for instant use only applied to the 'reduces range penalties part'

As I understand the intent, the -6 for shooting blind is separate and distinct from the time-based penalties to reduce range penalties. That way it's up to you, when fighting an invisible foe, if you want to just eliminate the -10 to hit him, or if you want to concentrate to also reduce the range penalties.
