Cards used in fight

Hi , i have one question :
- I fight a monster and i can't kill he with only my item's bonus
- I use a potion +X to me ( single use )
- Other player play a monster enhancement

The question is : the cards used ( potion and monster enhancement ) remain on the table untill the end of fight and only in this moment are discards OR are discards immediately after are used ?

Keep cards that are still affecting the fight on the table. That way, you know what's still having an effect.

But this is a rule , or is used for comfort ? Because in a fight my friend use "Potion of Halitosis" to gain the +X , the potion are discard , after this he cant kill the monster ( 21 vs 21 ) and he use "Wand of Dowsing" to take "Potion of Halitosis" and ri-use it , and win the fight.

he can do that ?

No, your friend can't do that. You discard the cards that are affecting the battle after the battle concludes, so Potion of Halitosis is not considered to be in the discard pile yet when your friend played Wand of Dowsing.
