Default DxM Card Upon Exploring

On page 6 of the rulebook, under Exploring, sec. 3 states that you may draw a DxM card. I just want to be clear. This is optional, yes? (pretty good option, generally.)

Any player who does not wish to draw a DxM at this time does not have to. (Why would a player not want to draw a DxM card? Help me out here, since the idea of passing on a card is alien to me.)

Indeed. I ask only because it will no doubt come up during demos.

Thank you,

He may forget to take one.
If it is not optional then he cannot forget and the others ought to mention it to him.

I see potential room for improvement of the MQ rules on this.

This is a good point for new players such as myself.

Two points could use clarification:

1) p6, "Exploring," #3 states "Meanwhile, you may draw a DxM, as your reward for exploring, and decide if you want to use it now."

- Unless taking a DxM is optional, I recommend changing the text to "Meanwhile, draw a DxM, as your reward for exploring, and decide if you want to use it now."

2) Assuming that drawing a DxM card at #3 of Exploring is not optional, the "Munchking Babe vs. the Shrieking Geek" example/walk-through, on page 11, should be updated to reflect that the Munchkin Babe takes a DxM as she explores the new room (right about the third passage of this example).

If taking the DxM is optional, then an update of the walk-through, indicating that the Munchkin Babe waives the right to draw the optional DxM card, should suffice.

I'd recommend updating:
- on-line MQ rules
- printed MQ rules
- on-line MQ FAQ in the event that the "rules" literature is not updated

This is probably better wording. I'd ask you to submit this to our Errata Coordinator for posting to the website. Put "all" in the printing info box.

(I'll also note, for future reference, that we've already sent the 4th printing to the manufacturing plant, so the absolute earliest this could be fixed in print is 2013.)

This is also worth noting on the errata submission form.

Thank you for the feedback and for the link to the Errata submission.
Thank you also for the information regarding the next printing...
