Recovering Health (page 15)
I just wanted to make sure I was reading this appropriately.
"At any time except during combat, you can lose a level to restore up to three hits. This is rarely smart unless you’re about to die and have stuff you don’t want to lose! Some rooms and cards can restore hits. Flip a black marker back to red for each hit you restore. You can never restore more hits than your maximum Health!"
Thanks, trying to prep for a demo and I want to assure I have expunged my Munchkin knowledge with Munchkin Quest knowledge.

Re: Recovering Health (page 15)
Losing a level restores three hearts, unless you have fewer than three black hearts, in which case it takes you back up to full.
You cannot lose a level to regain hearts before rolling to Run Away, and you cannot lose a level to regain hearts before dealing with the aftermath of your Run Away roll. The time to decide to lose a level to restore health is before you pick a fight you can't win, not after.

Re: Recovering Health (page 15)
Awesome, thanks for the quick response.
From that response, and the rules on page 8, can I assume "During Combat" starts when a monster is encountered (starting in a room with a monster, moving into a room with a monster, a monster moves into my room, I move into a new room which will have a monster) until (assuming the combat is lost) the running away is resolved (including all bad stuff, or other loss of health)? Thanks again...

Re: Recovering Health (page 15)
Combat ends when you win or Run Away. However, Running Away must be resolved before taking any other actions; there's no grace period for doing other stuff.

Re: Recovering Health (page 15)
If my turn starts with a monster in my room I will not have time to lose a level and regain health before combat, right? My turn starts, I draw a DxM and I am in combat.
My knowledge of Munchkin would say that since I had a draw phase, that would be a perfectly reasonable time to use the Recovering Health option. It would also seem that I would have time to adjust my equipment as well, but it seems that is not the case. From other posts and from the rules, I have come to believe that it's Start / Draw / Fight, without deviation. Was this the intent? Am I wrong again?

And be VERY careful about using Munchkin knowledge in Munchkin Quest. They are NOT the same, and in some critical areas that will trip you up badly.

Thus, all of these questions... You all have been a great help, and thanks.
