Re: Request for Clearer Spell Writeups
I'm all for story telling. An interesting description that the GM can play up in game can really help in suspention of disbelief.

Re: Request for Clearer Spell Writeups
Spells and talents have beth been alphabetized within IQ levels. Could have alphabetized them as one list but that would make it a lot harder to choose talents and spells in the first place. Would a complete alpha list of talents somewhere be worth the space?
I see the arguments for stat blocking. I just may not have time to go over everything. and make sure it's right. Making a note, at least. Monster Manual, anybody? |

Yes, without a doubt. Write-ups for mythological beasts as well as the outlandish would be appreciated. |

Re: Request for Clearer Spell Writeups
I agree with John about the alpha list.
Can I offer a suggestion? Maybe create a separate folder with charts and tables, to include the usual armor/weapons tables and the like, but also including an alpha listing of monsters/creatures, maybe some brief guidance on character creation, and an alpha listing (by IQ) of spells and talents, and maybe an equipment cost chart, or something similar -- things that will help the players get going at the beginning, and serve as a quick reference guide for the GM. Give the players permission to photocopy it (or include four copies in the game; or host the pdf on line so everyone can download it) so they can pass it around among themselves (or each have their own copy) when playing the game. Over time, it will become less necessary, but when new players are first starting out, that would be an enormous benefit to them... |

Re: Request for Clearer Spell Writeups
Most important listing is by IQ level alpha. Other sorts, such as strictly alpha or by cost, spell type (thrown, etc.), fatigue cost, might be useful, as well, perhaps in an index/codex doc of some sort.
When I make a character, PC or NPC, I always start with "What is best highest IQ talent/spell I have access to?", so therefore referencing first by IQ, and then work my way down to the lower levels, often looking for the most efficient spell or talent that suits my character. |
