Wild Talent: Shapeshifting Spell
How would you price Wild Talent: Shapeshifting spell only?
I ask because it's simultaneously very limited but also quite potentially unlimited. I mean it's effectively Aspected: Magic with One-college only and not all spells of that college, but it's also open-ended to the number of animals the caster will be familiar with. |

Pretty sure this is One Spell Only, which is a -80% modifier.

Re: Wild Talent: Shapeshifting Spell
The Shapeshifting spell only transforms you into one specific type on animal - you need to learn one spell for each animal you want to shift into.
Magic, p.33: "Each animal form is a different spell, to be learned separately."

Re: Wild Talent: Shapeshifting Spell
Effectively this isn't one spell, but a class of shape shifting spells. I'd probably give you less of a discount (-60%? instead of -80% which makes it 6 points instead of 4, if that matters).
Wild Talent only gives you one use per session. Even if you can maintain it for as long as you have fatigue, you still could only change into 1 animal per session and once you stopped using it (turned back), that would be it. I suspect you'd be better off investing those 6 points into common animal forms so you can switch back and forth as necessary. |

Or buy a modular ability. Its more reliable, can be changed faster, and if you're limiting the skill selection anyways, has just as many available skills.
