I did the quiz at 3.30 am and scored accordingly. 15/30.

I found the quiz pretty nifty — the only questions I bombed were the one on the Chase rules from Action 2, and Technical Grappling. I haven't used the former ever (or even read them in a few years, I think), and the latter I'm still getting a grasp on. 28/30 isn't bad, though. |

Re: Game Geekery - GURPS Content Posts
Greetings, Folks!
As it's almost Halloween, today's thoughts are on running horror one-shots for the holiday, especially to corral in those non-gamers in your life who you just know would fall in love with tabletop RPGs if they just gave it a try. People love getting into the spooky spirit, they want to be scared and take a walk on the dark side. Seize that opportunity with a game tailored to the kind of horror they enjoy most and show 'em what they're missing. "Scooby-Doo" to "Saw," "The Thing" to "Something Wicked This Way Comes"... round up some players and have your own frightfest! Also, I set up an unofficial Discord channel for GURPS last week, and it has been growing by leaps and bounds. If hanging out and chatting about GURPS -- rules, characters, tips, whatever -- is your idea of fun, just click that link and head on in. All are welcome, and Discord is super easy to use. Hope to see you there!

Re: Game Geekery - GURPS Content Posts
Happy GURPSDay and almost-Halloween!
In today's post, besides another status update on the unofficial GURPS Discord server (short version: it's great and growing, come on in!), I outline a basic system of three random tables for quickly generating a Halloween-ish game. Clearly, this is not going to spit out a full adventure with notes and stats and pre-made characters. It will, though, hopefully give your brain a little poke if you find yourself surrounded by bored gamers this Halloween and want to slap together a quick one-shot to kill a few hours. If you pair the basic adventure with Quick-Start Character Creation, you can get to playing in no time*! * Disclaimer: reading my blog will not break the rules of space and time for you... it will still, in fact, take some time, just much, much less. Suggestions for improvement and/or tales of how your own Halloween games went are definitely wanted! I hope you have some spooky gaming goodness this weekend.

Re: Game Geekery - GURPS Content Posts
Happy GURPSDay, all!
Today I write a bit about a super useful and free program called Inspiration Pad Pro, which allows you to create your own random tables with a minimum of muss and fuss. As an example, I automated the tables from last week's post on Random Horror Gaming, so you can generate five results at a time with just a mouse click. It's a great program, I hope you find it useful. Also, so many great things were happening this week in GURPS (the Discord chat community, the GURPS Calculator, and the Dungeon Fantasy line) that I made a quick second post to make sure you didn't miss out! Enjoy the GURPS bounty this week as we slide on into the weekend.
