Lucky Talisman and Magnificent Hat

Hi,
We had some dispute with my friends about Lucky Talisman and Magnificent Hat.
For example, player-A opened doors and got a curse. He tried to pass it curse using Lucky Talisman to player-B who wear Magnificent Hat.
Part of us thought that all players except player-B had to throw a die to decide who took this the curse. On the other hand, part of us thought player-B had to take the curse by himself because Lucky Talisman passes not exactly curse but an effect of the curse.
Could you please tell me, who was right and how it has to work as expected?
