What effect does it have? Could that be a feature? What about just using the normal crawling rules?

Anything is possible, but it doesn't scan with me. Wouldn't a vermiform creature have more stability and more purchase on the ground when they were in the horizontal posture?

Take the Naga for example: they don't seem to be neither slowed down nor sped up by going horizontal.

I can imagine a Naga (snake-thing with no arms, right?) going faster lent forward like a leaning-forward-fast-thing (brain failure) and being slower with its body coiled up underneath it to give it height.

Hmm... what about the intermediate pose where the body is stretched out behind it and just the head/neck is held up. I think that would just a be astationary horizontal possition.

Actually no, I was talking about one with arms, but with the bottom 2/3 of the torso being snake-like, with a tail too.

It's just that bears are faster and more comfortable on all fours, while humans are on two, so there should be a middle variant, which favours neither position.

The difference of naga is that theirs is a choice between upright and prone, not upright and on all fours.

Now I know what you mean.

http://goblins.keenspot.com/d/20100505.html

We are looking for, Does not take movement penalties for "position", trait. I don't know where to start with pricing that, + Basic move (only in possititon -X%).

Perhaps it could be made using the alternate abilities rules.

Normal:
Extra Legs (4 Legs) [5]

Upright:
Extra Arms 2 (Temporary Disadvantage: Lame: Crippled Legs -10%) [18]
*Character can probably gain further discount by gaining temporary
disadvantage Reduced Basic Move to half their move.

Horizontal:
Extra Legs (6 legs, Temporary Disadvantage: Horizontal -10%) [9]

Thus Upright would be purchased at full cost, and the Normal and Horizontal would be at 1/5th cost for a total of 21.
