Scrounge for food? looking in trash heaps as opposed to begging for money?
He comes up by and large empty. PS. please be aware that wealth in ancient times is a LOT lower than it is now, food was pretty valuable, and starvation was a common means of death. I'm not trying to be difficult, Jordan is just engaging in successful high tech behaviors that don't yield results in low-tech societies.

((yeah I know, jordan's used to getting by in a more modern world, it makes complete sense especially since he knows nothing about this place)) is there a forest or something there? I could try to scavange in there

There's the river, which is a few hundred yards wide. on the other side he just sees farmland and more town. He hasn't seen outside of town yet.

I'll scavange for something I can use as a spear and try my luck at spear fishing, if the river is close to where all this mysterious behavior is happening I'll do it there
