Default Atlantean Sword immunity to loss from bad stuff

Hello I have a question about the Atlantean Sword and its immunity to loss from bad stuff. I recently suffered a loss of this sword from a gobsmacked curse. This brought up the Goblin Hood's bad stuff which was death. Everyone voted for it to be lost. Is this correct? I argue that that bad stuff from a curse would not.

Bad Stuff is specifically the text on a monster card which has the special rules for what happens when you lose a combat against it. A Curse is not Bad Stuff. A card with protection from Curses does not have protection from Bad Stuff and vice versa.

That said, I don't have the cards in front of me, so there may be something I'm missing.

The sword says immune to loss from curses and bad stuff.

So then how did you lose it to Gobsmacked? Immune to loss from Curses is pretty cut and dry.

The argument was that the curse gobsmacked inflicted the bad stuff of death on me. Then the act of my friends looting my corpse is how I lost the sword. I couldn't argue that the sword would save me from death, but as they started looting and were talking about who gets the sword I objected as loosing it then would be arguably a direct consequence of the curse.

It is not immune to being looted from your corpse when you die. The Curse causes the death (if that's the Bad Stuff of the monster you pull) but is not the proximate cause of you losing your sword, so it is not immune from being stolen.
