Plot Device question(s)
Scenario: Player 1 enters a combat in which they are winning by x amount. Player 2 plays the Insanely Variable Bonus Plot Device card, causing player 1 to be losing by 1. Player 3 then uses the Power Pilferer card to take one of player 1's power cards (Radioactive Aura) which is worth 8 bonus points. After this action, is player 1 still losing by 1, or in fact losing by 9?

Re: Plot Device question(s)
The Plot Device "resets" the battle once, and then doesn't continue to keep changing things. It does say, "Further cards may, of course, be played," and that would include cards like Power Pilferer.
So, in the given scenario, Player 1 would now be losing by 9, but he can also play cards to improve his situation, and since he no longer has the Radioactive Aura, he can ask for help. Now that it's been made clear in the rules that combat strength can be below 0, what I suggest with a card like Plot Device is to set the winning side at 1 and the losing side at 0. Going back to your scenario, the Monster(s) would be at 1, Player 1 would be at 0, and after losing his nuclear glow, he would be at -8. |
