Run Away question
There are a lot of cards that say something along the lines of automatic runaway.
Do you have to play this card before you decide to roll the die? I know with hirelings you have to decide before you roll, but it seems the rules are not as clear about these kind of cards. I do know at least one card in regular Munchkin that says you can use it even if you have already failed your run away attempt but other cards do not say this. Does that mean you have to decide to use the card first. For example: Stasis Field from Star Munchkin says you can use it for an automatic run away or make it so the monsters catch the players. Does this mean you wait until those players roll to run away and then decide what you want to do? Thanks, Tom |

Re: Run Away question
I believe the general rule is, unless the card says "after the roll," then it must come before the roll is done. I also believe you're still supposed to roll the die, even if your escape is assured, because there may be cards people can play at that time.

Re: Run Away question
Unless a card says it can be played after the Run Away roll is attempted, it must be played before (and takes the place of that roll, which would no longer be necessary).
