Size of Melee Hexes
Two questions.
1. Can someone measure their copies of Melee and Wizard and tell me the width of the hexes (from flat edge to flat edge)? It looks to me like ITL has 19mm hexes and I believe that Melee and Wizard had 25mm hexes. I can't find my copies or I'd check. 2. Can someone from SJG tell us what the hex sizes will be in the new Fantasy Trip? I'm thinking of making some dungeon tiles and would like to be consistent. If it matters, I recommend 1.25" hexes (measured from flat side to flat side). Most normal sized 28mm figures will have a 1" square or round base, which is a very tight fit for a 1"/25mm hex. |

Re: Size of Melee Hexes
Melee and Wizard = 23mm
ITL = 20mm GURPS Man-to-Man = 25mm SJG will have to chime in on what they're looking at for the new TFT, but the megahexes I saw today looked closer to M/W size (but were just protos). I suspect they'll be optimized for the counters, rather than minis. I game mostly with 15mm minis, and use 18mm hexes because they fit megahexes well on an 8"x11" printed page.

Re: Size of Melee Hexes
I'm personally hoping for 25mm hexes because they'd be easy to build in 3D...
...and bases of this size already exist for miniatures. |

Could I trouble you to measure the counter sizes (for one hex figures)? And I dunno if you recall, but Martian Metals sold a line of 15mm TFT miniatures Way Back When. They had 25s as well, but I played the heck out of the 15s. You could get a pack of 20 or so for the same price as a pack of 3 25mm figures. |

The size of the counters is a little inconsistent; especially width, because of where the cuts were made. But 18.5-19mm on each side seems to be the intended average.

Re: Size of Melee Hexes
I use 32 mm hexes, as I have stated in the Lego thread. This is, for me, the perfect size. A Lego 4x4 round plate is exactly 32mm in diameter.
I have recreated the Melee map with 32mm hexes and it fits on a 17"x22" The is a picture of it in the Lego thread. I am working to fit the Wizard map on a 22"x34" sheet, which will be easily printed as two 17"x22" sheets |

Re: Size of Melee Hexes
Drving need here is to get the whole MELEE map on a legal sized sheet of paper so it goes in the box. Since there will be a PDF, players could print bigger ones.
