I tend to name components from games rather than saying specific sizes - I've found it's easier for most people to envision what I'm talking about.

I measured my Catan cards.
They came out 2.25 x 3.25. Which would make them a bit big. I seem to recall some that were smaller but I don'tknow the size. I would guess they might have been Mini Euro Board Game Size (45mm x 68mm). I could live with cards that size, but keeping the sleeves separate from the x-wing sleeves would be annoying and since they're a bit larger, none of the binder pages would store them well.

So what's the overall flavor of the new background, and how does it compare to the classic campaign world?

We can find out for $79.90 ;) {10 issues at 7.99 each}

Plus we can learn way too much about some RPG system called GURPS.
[JK] Generic Underwhelming* Roll Playing System. [/JK]
They did have an Autoduel Supplement and one for Ogre.
If you are a Role Player, it's a great *Universal system.

Since I have no interest in Magic or Dragons in Role Playing (and very little interest in Role Playing at all) the 7.99 per issue price for Pyramid feels a bit steep. There is just one Car Wars article in each issue (and possibly 1 or 2 amusing Space or Post Apoc articles in the 10 total).

I would however be willing to Pony Up $10-15 if someone at SJGames would collect just the 6th edition Car Wars bits from Pyramid into 1 PDF.

...assuming that the world written about in those vignettes is still the world they intend to publish.

I have to admit that I'm a bit curious how prevalent Car Wars articles would need to be in Pyramid for people here to pick up the issue. One article? Two? Would never buy one? (Mods, that might be worth considering a poll of some sort).

If the purpose is to gin up enthusiasm for 6E ... maybe they should be made available to people who don't already subscribe...
