BECMI Red Box

Hi - those of us who are at least somewhat crusty probably remember the old BECMI Red Box from the Basic Edition of "that RPG". I should, it was what got me into ttRPGs.
What I don't remember was the minimum recommended age - I could have sworn it said players aged 7 and up on the box, but it was a long time ago and all the box pictures I can find say 10 and up. My recollection is reinforced because a colleague of my Father gave me a copy for my 7th birthday and I was contemplating doing the same for a friend's kid but want to check my facts first... was it ever "7 and up" or am I just getting old?

Nope. 10 and up. It was never 7.
