So this actually started to go well enough for me those several years ago, but then Real Life™ intervened, and I had to abandon the campaign just after a few sessions.

I am bumping this thread now because my very favorite setting for GURPS is Metamorphosis Alpha. (I pretty much only defaulted to Gamma World because I had the scenario source books.)

Low and behold, The Starship Warden is now live on KickStarter!

Moved this post to a new thread because (a) it was a SERIOUS thread necro and (b) it wasn't really related to the subject of the old thread.

I'd love to get the two settings together.

I've long thought that a PDF setting up a Generation shipship with similar problems to the Warden or Earthship Ark would be a supplement worth having.

There is a current Kickstarter for Starship Warden. Not GURPS but a fresh place to steal from :-).

If it isn't nailed down it's fair game!

I agree that GURPS is perfect for running a MA campaign. No other system handles mutants and melee mixed with technology quite so well. Yet we do not have a stand-alone sourcebook for that genre.

Thanks for that! I can’t believe I have never heard even a whisper of that show before!

It was seriously flawed, but had many virtues in spite of it's flaws. A great RPG setting though.

Default The Starlost

Like many here, I am sure, I can’t help but watch Sci-Fi shows thinking about how I would run it as GM. Also it can be fun trying to figure out which characters are NPCs!

That works pretty well for shows like ST ToS, but the Starlost PCs are pretty mundane, and the GM is a jerk! But I definitely think it is giving me some ideas for things to work into a MA campaign…

I saw some of it when it first came out and was appalled at the execution. But the concept is good, and justifies a diverse set of NPCs since they could be from completely different cultures.

Default MA starting level

I am starting my planning for a MA deck for novice players. Soon enough they will figure out that the world has walls. In the meantime, I need a campaign setting that fits in a pocket universe of about 25x50 miles, allows players a choice for a variety of class/race paradigms, and could have a stable economy for ~300 years. Any suggestions? Thanks!
