DF Rage Powers/Wrath Power Modifier/Rage Casting
Rage Spells are described as Clerical in Dungeon Fantasy Denizens Barbarians, p. 23. Do the limitations for the Holy Power Modifier apply to Rage Casting in addition to the limitations for the Wrath Power Modifier? In other words, does a Rage Caster need to meet the requirements for both Holiness (sanctity), and Wrath (hurting yourself or killing an enemy), in order to Rage cast?
I don't think so, since the Wrath Power Modifier is only -10% to cost for abilities, and if limitations from both modifiers applied it should have a -20% cost. |

* Okay. Maybe, just maybe Toadkiller Dog meant that these work like Divine Spells and aren't beholden Mana, so he went at it from that direction. In which case I can see the link back through Clerical Magic, but personally for my money, I'd have just put a single sentence denoting what can shut down a Rage Caster, No Sanctity, No Mana, or (IMO) No Rage. In my games, Rage Casting is subject to Low/No Mana, the Rage Caster is just channeling the mana through their physicality instead of 'mentally channeling" it like a Wizard. But I can an argument being made that this power is granted by the Barbarian's uncivilized gods. |
