Unreliable and time before FP goes away
The Unreliable limitation requires that you make a roll to activate an ability. If it fails, you can try again once per second, but at a cost of 1 FP.
I note that there's no timeframe listed in the trait. How long does this cost of 1 FP? Does it apply only for the next second? The next minute? the next 5 minutes? |

Re: Unreliable and time before FP goes away
I agree with Hellboy. The extra roll to try to activate the ability is a sort of "extra effort" that costs 1 FP to do. Your maximum FP doesn't change, and the expended FP comes back at the usual rate for the character.

Re: Unreliable and time before FP goes away
Sorry if I was unclear. I meant how long must you wait before the next use of your Unreliable power doesn't cost you 1 FP to attempt to activate it (as opposed to how long to recover a FP)
Thanks for pointing to the Repeated Attempt reference in Powers. I was familiar with the 5 minute rule, but I also knew that came with a cumulative skill penalty in addition to the fatigue, so wasn't sure if I should apply it or not to Unreliable which doesn't get a skill penalty. But it does make the most sense. |
