That was definitely one of the things I had in mind, yeah.

Well, among other things (for the record, those included Who Framed Roger Rabbit, The Mask, Cool World, Bonkers, and Freakazoid). Bonkers definitely made the list of influences, since a) it's probably the longest-running media franchise I know that with the exact premise of "cartoon characters interacting with 'real' humans", and b) I'm a child of the '80s and '90s, and I watched a lot of cartoons growing up. Can't leave Bonkers out with that sort of formative influence! :)

I'm vaguely remembering a horror short story about a cartoonist who invents a super-violent character; the character "comes to life" as a tulpa, and proceeds to be a horror villain. This one didn't have the delusion that humans are just like toons, it just didn't care. It was not trying to be funny to the audience - it was a solipsistic sociopath doing what it thought was funny.

A very effective villain. Unfortunately I can't remember anything else about the story - author, decade written, etc.

I think that was actually a character/creature in GURPS Monsters.

Has anyone else with subscriptions from the DFRPG Kickstarter not received this one yet on W23 or is it just me?

I never got the email notice and link but did find it in my downloads under comp. Another thread someone said use 3/101 in the search box if you have a lot of files.

That's correct. Benny the Fox, in the "Original Monsters" chapter of that title.

EDIT: That'll teach me to leave the reply window open and go away for a few minutes.
