Gazebo & Doppelganger
Last night in our amazing game our friend won while fighting the Gazebo. We had used about 6 cards in our attempts to stop him from winning, but in the end, he used his Doppleganger card to ensure victory. As we were cleaning up the game, one friend pointed out that 'the player must face the Gazebo alone.'
So then we started to discuss the outcome and couldn't decide whether or not he actually won. Can a Doppelganger be used while fighting a Gazebo? Our argument was that the Doppelganger would create two of you, therefore he wasn't technically 'alone'. And his argument was that it merely just doubled his stats, and he was in fact, alone, because he was the only player fighting the Gazebo. We ended up giving him the win since we had already started cleaning up and didn't make the argument sooner. |

Re: Gazebo & Doppelganger
Doppleganger is not another player helping in the combat, so, yes, you can use the Doppleganger agains the Gazebo.

Re: Gazebo & Doppelganger
"Alone", in Munchkin, means "without help". Helping is a defined term in Munchkin: is when other player joins the combat and his Level+bonus get added to the original player.
So the use of Potions, Doppelganger and other cards are not considered helping.
