Superhero Character Idea Help
As the title suggests, I'm looking for some help with a character for a GURPS Superhero campaign. We have 500 points with 65 points of Disadvantages on top, TL 9, and are a sort of Avengers-esque group.
I'm making a character that is a "Peak of Humanity" type character who uses parkour and maybe a jet pack, jump pack, or maybe even short range teleporter to reach long distances. Coming off of Titanfall 2, I'm basically making a Titanfall Pilot sans the Titan, haha. As far as combat goes, I was thinking mainly melee as straight up killing is frowned upon unless its other worldly entities or aliens bent on destroying humanity. I'm sort of at a loss for any specific advantages, perks, or other useful abilities that'll make me viable in a group where one guy has Magic (I only know that much), one is a shape-shifter, and another is a robot with a few allies and Iron Man like abilities. I'm not much of a min-max sort of guy, but my friends are and often find clever ways to max out power that I simply miss or skim past. Any suggestions or even new ideas in the same vein as a "acrobatic melee fighter" would be very much appreciated! |

Re: Superhero Character Idea Help
I once made a list of 400 point Power packages to give my players in a supers campaign, this is the one that might be appropriate for you:

And here's a full character sheet I made for a character with this power:

Re: Superhero Character Idea Help
A lot of these seem pretty straight forward, and useful, so i'll probably grab some, but my guy is sort of a gadgeteer/acrobat, who uses some high tech equipment. I would say he's more lean than "Hunky" haha. Any ideas involving a teleport? I thought maybe a device that did it would lower the point cost if it's not innate and like Signature Gear.

Re: Superhero Character Idea Help
You'll certainly get a lot of use out of Trained By a Master, possibly Weapon Master (if you use melee weapons), and Imbuement skills.
One character I have in mind who might fit the bill is a flagsuit type, who I've named the Sentinel. My Sentinel, though a product of an experiment similar to Captain America, uses escrima batons instead of a shield, being much more acrobatic and less brute strength.

I know most melee weapons are cheap, but I like the idea of not needing them, though i know that can be harder to do in GURPS. Also Speak of the devil Phantasm, I was just combing through your Marvel post while waiting for replies! haha. Last edited by ArtilleryMoped; 08-22-2016 at 04:20 PM. Reason: Additional Info |

I'd also ask him if you could have your superhero outfit made of Reflex ballistic fabric (the Reflex Suit in Ultra-Tech is said to be ideal for this, and is the assumption for most of the superhero uniforms in my Marvel Reboot thread), as his initial foes would probably be using pistols, shotguns (both for thugs and police), or SMGs ("private security" for the white-collar criminals).

Re: Superhero Character Idea Help
I'd recommend Blunt Claws or Striker (Limb), then. Either of these can be a gadget (gloves, probably), but they significantly improve your effectiveness at unarmed striking.

As for Striking Strength, he said "no limit" as long as I can come up with a reasonable explanation and have a modifier of some kind with it. |

Re: Superhero Character Idea Help
Interesting. Would claws be useful against something with natural DR or hardened Battlesuits? I'd probably have to do some targeted strikes or crafty hits i'm sure if that were the case.
