Default Longsword firing magical bolts - what skill?

What skill should I use for a sword that grants the ability to unleash lightning bolts onto the wielder's enemies? Innate Attack says specifically that it's not for things that are fired from something in your hand. The closest I can think of is Beam Weapons, but that seems distinctly wrong somehow.

What skill is used to fire a missile spell from a wand or staff? I think most people keep it as Innate Attack instead of requiring a separate skill. I'd do the same for a spell-launching sword, despite what the skill description says.

If this answer is not good enough for you, then I'd go with Beam Weapons (Projector).

Magic allows using Innate Attack skill through a staff, and I see no difference in this. Except, you know, this particular staff is steel. And pointy.

If the wielder has to point his/her other hand at the target, then it's Innate Attack even though the power is granted by the sword.

If the wielder has to point the sword/hilt/pommel at the target, then I'd say it's the sword skill at a penality (Broadsword or Two-Handed Sword for a longsword).

Isn't there a Perk that allows the use of a different skill from the standard one for any one given use? Maybe in Martial Arts?

It might be reasonable to use that to change the bolt-aiming from Innate Attack skill to Broadsword skill.

Yeah, I'd go with Innate Attack, and possibly allow the character to purchase Skill Adaptation to use Broadsword/2H Sword instead. Beam Weapons (Projector) probably isn't entirely off the mark either, but that should only be used if such weapons are fairly common and you want to distinguish between guys that use them and guys that have their own abilities (and even then, Innate Attack and Projector should probably have a default between them).
